Father Lawrence Teteh, C.S.Sp.
Pastor 2004-2011
His smiling face has been here for 10 years, and now it's time to thank him and wish him well as he moves onto his next assignment as Pastor of St. Therese Catholic Church in Fort Wayne, IN.
Father Lawrence has been a mentor, a friend, and a leader who, through good times and the not-so-good times, never gave up on us. We will always remember and admire Father for his vision, his sustained inspiration, his unwavering encouragement . . . and above all, his faith.
We will miss you Father Lawrence!

Our Lady of Hungary School is going to stay open for the 2009 – 2010 school year! Through generous donations and fundraising events, the school was able to raise over $100,000.00 in five months. This wouldn’t have been possible without support from the alumni, parishioners, and the community. Thank you! The school, unfortunately, will face having approximately a $100,000.00 debt every year. Because the parish enrollment is declining, the church is not able to help the school financially - and this is how the debt is created. If the school cannot raise the shortfall each year, it could close. Closing Our Lady’s doors would be devastating. Many schools provide an excellent academic and spiritual education to its students, but Our Lady of Hungary is special. It is special because it is welcoming and diverse. Walk the halls of the school to see how accepting the students are of one another; no one is judged by the color of their skin or the size of their parents’ pocket books. If a student joins class after the school year has started, they are treated as if they have been attending Our Lady their whole life! Our Lady truly is a model for all Christian institutions. Our Lady of Hungary School holds a special place in many people’s hearts. Please consider showing your commitment to the school and all it has to offer by pledging. Our Pledge Campaign kicked off in the fall of 2009. By collecting pledges for years to come, Our Lady can prove that it has sustainability. If it has an alternative source of income, it can stay open and can continue to provide its excellent education and environment to students and families. Consider what amount you can pledge – maybe $100 a year, possibly more or less. What can you do to ensure that Our Lady’s doors will remain open? |
