who is 40, a son 37, 3 grandchildren, a 14 year old

Torok , Cheryl  Fleming  ('67)   -   When I reviewed the
comments in old high school year books that referred to
me as “brainy,” I could see that things had not changed
much!!  Following graduation from Marian HS, I earned a
Bachelor’s in Biology and Education (1975, IUSB) and
Master’s in Secondary Ed (1979, IUSB) and Administration
and Supervision for grades K-12.  I also hold a Ph.D. in
Educational Leadership from Andrews University (2004).

After serving in public education as a teacher and school
administrator, I accepted a position as Director of Faculty
Development and Assistant Professor of Education at
Indiana’s largest private university.  I travel quite a bit, as I
coordinate training for 800 adjunct faculty members over a
three-state area. I also do some consulting work, and
frequently present sessions at professional conferences.
I am currently co-authoring a textbook for graduate
students in education, which is scheduled for publication
in 2007.

My husband Edward is a retired school administrator.
Along with our three indoor cats and a variety of outdoor
wildlife, we reside in a log home set on 43 wooded acres
with an 8 acre lake in beautiful Brown County, Indiana. My
interests include singing in the church choir at St. David’s
in Bean Blossom, reading mystery novels, attending
theatre and music events, and playing clarinet in the
Brown County Community Band

Torok, Jeanette  ('73)   -    Hi to all my friends and
classmates!  I have such happy memories of my years at
Our Lady.  Lip-synching in the choir, sodality meetings,
May crowning, mission babies, lent boxes, serving at
weddings for $2.00 a night., our yearly picnics at Rum
Village and our 8th grade trip to Chicago. After OLH I
graduated from Marian and entered the work force at
Liberty Mutual Insurance in South Bend.  After 22 great
years, our department was moved out of state and I was
out pounding the pavement for another job.  In 2000, I
began to work at Notre Dame in the Undergraduate Deans
Office as an administrative assistant to the dean of
curriculum. I'm still at Notre Dame, and am an
administrative assistant in the Department of History,
working with faculty and undergraduates.  Somewhere
along the way,  I began to take a few classes at IUSB part
time. Well, I decided that I wanted to continue my college
education and now I am a junior working toward my BA in
Women's Studies and Psyc!
hology, still attending part time.  For fun,  I enjoy shoveling
snow, raking leaves and mowing the lawn.  Ha! Ha!
Actually, I really like quiet time reading, eating out, going
to garage sales, shopping, and traveling.  I was fortunate
enough to attend the Fiesta Bowl in January 2006 in
Tempe, Arizona though the Irish could not pull out a win.
Thanks to the reunion committee for planning this event.
I'm sure it was an overwhelming task, but will be
appreciated by all who attend!
Torok, Shirley Barbour  ('62)   -   After working in
investment banking for 20 years, I switched to a career
with the U.S Treasury, where I have been for the last 20
years.  I also work part time as a pharmacy technician with
Osco (soon to be CVS) drugstore.  I have one daughter,
Michelle, who lives in St. Louis, MO, and works at the St.
Louis Art Museum.  I also have a sweet cat named Milo
and a beagle granddog named Peabody. Being my class
coordinator for the reunion has been a great experience
and I look forward to seeing so many classmates at the
reunion.

Toth, Marcia  ('66)   -   My sister above describes me as
"being out there, but not too far." I have three college
degrees and have had three serious relationships
(medical students and artists don't make good long term
partners); worked as a science teacher and coach at
South Bend's Jackson Middle School and as a research
associate in the U. of Chicago's Dept of Neurology.  For
the past 19 years I've called Miami Beach/North Miami
Beach home and have been employed by Nabi
Biopharmaceuticals as a Sr. Med Tech/ Sr. QC
Technologist (love the Sr. designation).

I "keep house" for 7 stray cats and cultivate the tropical
jungle (overgrown garden) which surrounds it. I've
vacationed around the Western USA and Alaska and have
traveled throughout Europe and Australia.  In addition to
the hobbies mentioned above, I also enjoy ballet,
ballroom dance, kayaking and snorkeling. . .
Mark Toth   ('69)   -    I'm married to my high school
sweetheart, Ann. We have two teenagers, Chris and
Meghan, who keep us very busy, both mentally and
physically! I've been working in Sales & Marketing in the
pharmaceutical industry for about 25 years. When my
kids aren't arranging my schedule, I enjoy getting out to
golf or taking a run (usaully a short one these days).
Attending the reunion would be a blast! It would be
terrific to see old friends and recount great memories.
However, a family commitment may get in the way of
making it back to old OLH.
